Guiseley Theatre has ambitious plans to redevelop the building and make it fit for 21st century performance. But the Covid-19 Lockdown has provided an opportunity to refurbish what beautiful building we have already got.
Those who have visited Guiseley Theatre will know that it is a beautiful cosy Victorian building with an abundance of potential, but currently has very tired and dated decor that doesn't show off its rich heritage. We intend to make the most of this forced closure and use this time to give most of our rooms a lick of paint, some TLC and a much needed face lift.
As we join theatres across the world in closing our doors due to the Corona Virus pandemic, all streams of income have vanished, and like many we turn to a passionate and caring community of theatre goers and performers and ask 'can you donate?'.
We have launched our Paint Pots Appeal to specifically fund the redecoration of our 154 year old building. By donating £20 to our Paint Pots Appeal, you are funding the purchase of 1 pot of paint that we will use in the coming weeks. We need to buy around 45 tins of paint to achieve this paint project and have other refurbishments in the pipe line to accomplish whilst we are in lockdown. Your support can directly support giving Guiseley Theatre a brand new look, ready to welcome back audiences and performers and bring theatre back to our stage.
Or, if you would like to give a custom amount and support the wider redevelopment of Guiseley Theatre, Take a look at our JustGiving Campaign, set up to celebrate the 200th Birthday of Sir Matthew William Thompson.
