CORE STEWARDS

Stewarding is a vital role when hosting events at Guiseley Theatre, ensuring that audience members and guests are happy, looked after and safe. A core steward takes on a high level of responsibility, managing the audience, leading evacuations, taking control of first aid incidents, set up and clear up events and welcoming audiences. Core stewards would receive training to  equip them with the right tools to carry out these responsibilities and would be ideally be available for 2-4 events per month.

CASUAL STEWARDS

A casual steward is all the fun without all the responsibilities!  A casual steward would be someone who can welcome audience members, help them around the building and keep the building clean and tidy. A casual steward wouldn't require training and would ideally be available for 1-2 events a month

BAR TENDERS

Bar tenders need to be able to work quickly! At our busiest, the bar team need to serve 300 people in 20 minutes and when its not so busy, its a great way to meet and chat to customers. Bar tenders should be reasonable tech savvy (to operate the tills), over 18 and okay with late nights! (Currently our bar is open to the public on a Friday and Saturday between 8 and 11pm). Ideally, bar tenders would be available once or twice a month.

MAINTENANCE TEAM

Our maintenance team would be a group of keen individuals, perhaps who are enthusiastic DIYers or wanting to learn. Guiseley Theatre is an old building that is constantly in need of repair or has bigger projects on the go. The maintenance team would usually meet weekly on a Thursday evening, but with no obligation to attend weekly.

BACKSTAGE CREW

Our Backstage crew team is great for people with an interest in sound, lighting, stage management and stage hands. This group of people would help make events a spectacle, help with 'get ins' and 'get outs' and join bigger redevelopment projects. There's no experience necessary, but should be willing to learn! The backstage crew would ideally be available 1-2 times a month.

FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGEMENT

A Front of house manager is an important role that carries a lot of responsibility. In this role you would be trained up on how the building runs, works and who does what. During events, the Front of House Manager is the boss, liaising with the stage manager, managing bar tenders and core and casual stewards whilst ensuring the event runs without a hitch. This role often involves locking up the building at the end of the night, taking charge in challenging situations and ensuring everyone's responsibilities and jobs are fulfilled at the end of the night.

FRIENDLY FACES

Friendly faces would be a team of people who would be happy to meet new users of the building (usually during the day), ‘mind’ the building during bookings, run an in house box office and help make Guiseley Theatre a welcoming place to be. Friendly Faces would have a good understanding of the building, what we offer and how to help. We can show you all the information you would need to fulfill this role. Friendly Faces may only be needed on an adhoc basis.

PHOTO TEAM

This group would be made up of individuals with a particular passion for photography. We have a beautiful building and we know it! We're looking for people who would photograph events, shows and the building in the hope that Guiseley Theatre could then use these photos in our digital and print materials.

FUNDRAISERS

Love organizing a coffee morning? or quizzes? or have other ideas on how you can fundraise for Guiseley Theatre?  Guiseley Theatre began its redevelopment in 2020 with a mission to bring our beautiful building up to scratch and equip it for 21st century productions. But this is a constant strain on the funds that are needed to keep Guiseley Theatre running day to day. Our fundraisers would be set the mission to use the building in any way they can think of to help raise these vital funds!
